Step 1: Estimates & Bid Submission

Primary Site Inspection & Pricing

We provide free quotes for current & prospective Modern Grind clients. Factors that affect pricing include stump size, depth of grind, ease of access, and desired finish level.

Step 2: Utilities Locates & Groundwork

Safety. Legality. Integrity.

In the state of Nebraska, utilities locates are required by law when breaking ground. To protect your business, and your job site, we will work with local entities to schedule all legally required locates

at no cost to you.

This service typically takes 3-7 days, and is included in initial estimates for all Modern Grind service, unless otherwise specified.

Step 3. Site Preparation & Setup

An Ounce of Prevention..

Anything that the stump grinder blade encounters has the potential to become a high velocity projectile. All measures of site prep aim to preserve the worksite, ensure safety of onsite personnel, and reduce cost & cleanup requirements. Depending on worksite characteristics, prep may include:

Move/remove obstacles using a loader.
Installation of guarding & safety signage.
Initial clearing of site debris.
Deconstruction of fencing, walls, etc.

We devote the time necessary to ensure a secure worksite, no matter how extensive.

Step 4. Precision Stump Grinding

Our INTEGRIND service aims to make it look as if the tree stump was never there. We possess top tier, professional-grade equipment. More powerful equipment allows us to tackle big projects that many of our competitors won't touch. Additionally, smaller projects can be completed in less time.

Step 5. Restoration & Cleanup

Exactly what you need. Nothing that you don't.

Modern Grind offers various finish & cleanup levels, depending on your application and desired affect. We can haul by-products, clear the area of debris & fully restore the area to make it look like we were never there.

Finish Level 1

Budget Option: Leave the Chips

As a rule of thumb, a tree stump will produce 2-4x the volume of chip product. If you choose to leave the wood chips, it is important to know that this is a heavy mixture of chips & dirt that can be difficult to move without professional equipment.

While most clients request to have the stump grinding chips hauled away, there are certain cases where it may be more appropriate to leave the mixture.

For example, if the worksite is going to undergo extensive grading, this may be a perfectly acceptable low-cost option.

Finish Level 2

Low Cost Option: Level Chips

We haul the majority of the heavy chip/dirt mixture, leaving a level layer of all natural wood chip & soil mixture where a stump one was.

Why choose this option?

Lower cost option than adding top soil
Reduces tripping hazards present onsite.
Guards soil against further erosion.
Slow the growth of invasive flora.
Natural chips may enrich the soil.

Finish Level 3

Essential Option: Premium Top Soil

All chip waste and surrounding debris is disposed. Two layers of premium top soil are then added to the site.

The first layer is packed & leveled. The final layer of soil is lightly packed and mounded to account for settling that may occur in the upcoming weeks.

This essential solution provides a clear step finish and optimally prepares the site for the addition of seed, sod, and other flora.
